A message from the Chief Nursing Officer

Our team of nurses at Catawba Valley Medical Center has more  than 700 nurses and nursing support staff who serve nearly a third of all Catawba County residents.  You are a remarkable group of individuals who demonstrate a passion for nursing and daily implement the nursing vision of CVMC, which is to be a role model for the achievement of excellence in professional nursing practice.

As nurses, we support the mission of Catawba Valley Medical Center through the science and art of professional nursing practice while engaging the patient’s person’s perspective.  I’m pleased to say that we do this in ways that are recognized nationally through the numerous professional awards and recognitions that our nurses receive each year.  We also do it in ways that are so subtle we don’t recognize them ourselves – a supportive word to a patient or their family, an unspoken need that’s filled or just an air of kindness and caring that is missing in so many healthcare facilities.

I’ve always been proud to be the Chief Nursing Officer at CVMC, and my belief in each of you grows daily as I see the things that we achieve.  You truly do embody the vision and values of the organization, while working constantly to exceed the goals that we set.
